Ask a friend to help organise and host your baby shower
It is a good idea to ask a friend to help you as you will be slowing down in the last couple of weeks of pregnancy and the last thing you will want is to run around organising a baby shower.

The guest list
Decide how many people you are going to ask.

The venue
Make sure that the venue is big enough for all your invited guests.

Date and time
Do not allow the baby shower to be too late in your pregnancy as you will be too tired to attend. A good time is 3-4 weeks before your due date. Early afternoon is a good time as you will not be feeling too tired.

Send out the invites
Send the invites out with plenty of time for people to reply. Make sure you put a contact number or e-mail for people to reply to and ask them to reply before a certain date so that you can get organised with food and drink.

Buy the food
Don’t go too mad on the food, a few nibbles and cakes will be enough.

Buy the drink
Make sure there is enough drink for everyone, this can be beer, wine, champagne and/or soft drinks.

Organise the games

See our ideas on Baby Shower Party Games for some great ice breakers.

Favours
See our section on the Top Ten Baby Shower Favours for your guests to take home or win at the games.
